U.S. Attorney Says Cannabis Is ‘Out Of Control’ In Oregon

U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams was reacting to a new report

Cannabis “is out of control” and state leaders need to wake up to that fact, the top federal law enforcement official in Oregon said Thursday.

U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams was reacting to a new report that said recreational legalization hasn’t solved the problem of rampant illicit cannabis production, nor the issues associated with it — out-of-state trafficking in particular.

The “Insight Report” was prepared by the Oregon-Idaho High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program, one of 28 such programs nationwide funded through the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and administered by the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
