The state will collect more than $630,000 in sales tax from current sales
The Natural State’s medical marijuana sales have skyrocketed to $6 million since dispensaries began opening up in May.
Eight dispensaries are scattered throughout Arkansas, two of which opened up in Bentonville early August.
Initially, the question was if the quantity of marijuana sales would amount to 1,000 pounds by the end of 2019.
That question has shifted to a new number.
“I think the better question now is, will we hit 2,000 pounds by the end of the year so to say that sales have sustained and been strong would be a bit of an understatement,” said Scott Hardin, spokesperson with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.
