A California state auditor report released Thursday raised serious questions about its effectiveness in the first year or so after it launched.
The report calls out the Department of Cannabis Control, which regulates the cannabis industry in the state, saying it provided “inadequate oversight” of the grant program.
The Budget Act of 2021 authorized $100 million to be dispersed among DCC and 17 different cities and counties, including the city of Sacramento.
