BesaMe Wellness Becomes First In Kansas City MO To Offer Home Delivery

A North Kansas City-based medical cannabis dispensary has become the first in the metro area to offer home delivery.
BesaMe Wellness started delivering in the Kansas City metro on July 26 and had to garner approval from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
“It’s a long, hard process,” BesaMe Vice President of Retail Operations Eric “Joey” Pintozzi said.
BesaMe had to submit its standard operating procedures to DHSS and must abide by multiple requirements to offer home delivery. Orders must be placed directly by the patient or caregiver, not a third party, and BesaMe is required to use the statewide track and trace system for every transaction to verify that the patient or caregiver is authorized to buy medical marijuana. Upon delivery, patients must show a government issued ID and their medical marijuana ID.
BesaMe also built its ecommerce platform from scratch, he said, which led to long nights and “literal sleepovers in the war room.”
