Steve DeAngelo, who has been called the “father of the legal cannabis industry,” will release a 7-point plan this Wednesday, September 29th outlining how New York State can develop cannabis regulations that will have a significant impact on individuals and communities most devastated by the war on drugs over the last half-century.

The Founder of the Last Prisoner Project, which seeks to release inmates convicted of non-violent cannabis crimes, DeAngelo will urge the Governor, State Legislators and the newly appointed Cannabis Control Board to include black market legacy players in the process, to execute funding/investment opportunities for minority candidates, create a mentorship business program for minority applicants and to guarantee dedicated revenue streams to be invested in communities most impacted by the war on drugs, among other policy items.
