We talked with the former President of Mexico about the state of the industry
Today, we have the distinct honor of having a quick conversation with a renowned statesman and longtime cannabis advocate, the former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox.
Vicente Fox Background:
As the 55th President of Mexico, Vicente Fox served from 2000 to 2006, a pivotal period marked by significant political and economic change.
In the years following his presidency, Vicente Fox, along with his wife, founded Centro Fox, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting leadership, education, and the development of civil society in Latin America. Centro Fox has become a hub for innovative ideas and projects, emphasizing the importance of ethical leadership and the potential for positive change in the region.
One of the most notable areas of President Fox’s advocacy has been his passionate support for cannabis legalization. In a groundbreaking shift, Mexico became the third country in the world, after Uruguay and Canada, to fully legalize recreational cannabis. This transformative policy change marks a significant step towards a more just and equitable society, addressing not only economic concerns but also social and public health issues.
