Rep Smith’s bill joins Sen. Jeff Brandes’ bill to make the push for legalization

Orlando lawmaker Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith filed a bill this week in the state Legislature to legalize recreational marijuana in Florida.

His bill joined with Sen. Jeff Brandes’ bill to introduce HB 343 and SB 710, respectively.

Rep. Smith’s HB 343 bill “authorizes person 21 years of age or older to possess & deliver marijuana products in a specified amount,” according to the Florida Legislature’s website.

Sen. Brandes’ bill, SB 710, revises “the sales tax exemption for the sale of marijuana and marijuana delivery” for those qualified to purchase it.
