NC Senate Could Vote On Medical Marijuana Bill In Next Week
Governor Roy Cooper is also expected to support the bill
After clearing another hurdle Thursday, a bill to legalize medical marijuana will go to the floor of the North Carolina Senate for a vote. However, some critics say the bill doesn’t do enough to help patients or growers in the state.
A similar bill made it through the N.C. Senate in 2022 but stalled in the state House. A new version with some changes swept through three senate committees in three days.
The bill would allow the use of medical marijuana for the treatment of cancer, epilepsy, PTSD, and multiple sclerosis among other conditions.
