Well-known Las Vegas cannabis retailer Planet 13 Holdings Inc. (CSE: PLTH) (OTCQX: PLNH) seems to be making meaningful inroads into the mixed martial arts community, particularly with fighters from the Ultimate Fighting Championship, according to Derek Gumin, the company’s national wholesale director.
“We’re about to announce a major UFC athlete as our first Planet 13 lifestyle sponsored athlete,” Gumin told Green Market Report. He described the soon-to-be-announced fighter as a title contender who is “cannabis friendly.”
The partnership is part of a broader strategy by Planet 13 to position itself not just as a dispensary, but as an entertainment destination. The company recently hosted a four-day event during the UFC’s International Fight Week, featuring meet-and-greets with notable fighters.
