Retail Cannabis Approved In A Number Of Vermont Communities
More than 40 cities and towns voted on the local measures Tuesday
A number of Vermont communities approved Town Meeting Day measures allowing retail marijuana sales within their borders as the state’s first retail businesses are expected to open in the fall.
More than 40 cities and towns voted on the local measures Tuesday. At the time of this report, voters from more than a dozen communities had approved them.
Among those approving the change were larger communities of Barre, Essex and Rutland. Smaller towns like Bolton, Grand Isle and Milton also gave a green light to retail sales.
At least three towns — Vernon, New Haven and Castleton — rejected the proposal entirely.
