Oxford MA Votes To Cap Cannabis Enterprises
Town Manager Adam Garland said current license holders will be grandfathered
Residents of Oxford have decided there is such a thing as too much green, with 70% voting Tuesday to limit the number of cannabis licenses the town can grant each year.
With 1,962 ballots cast, 1,387 voted to revise Oxford’s cannabis ordinance and 555 voted to leave it as is.
There are 16 active license holders and 13 retail, cultivation and manufacturing businesses in operation.
Town Manager Adam Garland said current license holders will be grandfathered and the cap will be met through attrition.
“It is important that licensees carefully review the ordinance changes,” Garland said Wednesday morning. “They will need to follow the new procedures and be sure to meet ordinance deadlines to maintain their status.”
