Oklahoma Bill Requiring $50K Bonds For Marijuana Farms Signed Into Law

Senate Bill 913 requires all commercial marijuana growers to hold a $50,000 bond

One of the first new laws signed by Gov. Kevin Stitt this legislative session hopes to help combat illegal marijuana grow operations in the state.

Senate Bill 913 requires all commercial marijuana growers to hold a $50,000 bond. The money will have to be paid up front before the new operations can begin. The bond can be recalled, to help fund any necessary remediation if the grow operation is abandoned or has its license revoked. 

The bill is one of many meant to put regulations in place that weren’t there when medical marijuana was legalized five years ago.
