Two Marijuana Legalization Bills Introduced At Kansas Statehouse

SB 294 and HB 2405 look to legalize for adult use

Bills that would legalize medical and recreational use of cannabis in Kansas have been introduced in the House and Senate.

Last week, Senate Bill 294 was introduced to authorize the processing, distribution, sale and use of medical marijuana. House Bill 2405, a bill that would legalize marijuana cultivation, manufacturing, possession and sale for adults was introduced on Monday.

HB 2405 would establish a framework for licensure and regulation of cannabis in Kansas. The bill would introduce and set requirements for various licenses for businesses. The bill would establish a Cannabis Business Regulation Fund that would collect a 15% tax on cannabis revenue.
