The Emerald Cup Announces 2023 Winners

The ‘Academy Awards of Cannabis’ returned to Northern California
The Emerald Cup, California’s premiere cultural cannabis event, showcased the thriving culture, innovation, and sense of community within the cannabis industry this past weekend during the Emerald Cup Awards show at the Craneway Pavilion in Northern California. The event was an unforgettable experience for the who’s who of the Californian cannabis space and included both an outdoors smoking patio and yacht afterparty.
After moving the ECA’s back home to the North after a showing at the Ricardo Montalban Theater last year, the atmosphere was dripping with anticipation over who would take home the crown. In the end, Blue Face by Fig Farms (a multiple award-winner that night) took the crown.
Honored this year for the Emerald Cup’s annual “Willie Nelson” Lifetime Achievement Award was lifetime advocate and hash queen herself Mila Jansen. Mila’s journey in the world of cannabis began in the 1970s when she first encountered the plant’s therapeutic benefits while traveling in Nepal and India. Inspired by these experiences, she became determined to learn more about cannabis and its potential. Her curiosity led her to further research and experimentation, culminating in the invention of the iconic pollinator machine in the 90’s. Mila Jansen’s impact on the cannabis industry cannot be overstated. Through her innovations, educational initiatives, and activism, she has helped shape the industry’s trajectory and pushed boundaries. Her work has inspired countless individuals to explore the potential of cannabis, leading to advancements in cultivation techniques, extraction methods, and product development.
