Calif–Cannabis firm MedMen will open its newest Southern California dispensary on Friday, June 30, in Santa Ana, California. According to MedMen, the facility will be one of the largest dispensaries in Orange County, with a 3,000 square foot space for retail sales and more than 500 products. Total square footage for the dispensary is 8,000 feet.
“We’re extremely proud to provide, not only jobs, but career opportunities in the thriving cannabis industry. MedMen currently manages ten facilities across the country,” said Daniel Yi, MedMen’s director of communications. “Santa Ana is our fourth location in California. In a little over a year, we’ve nearly tripled our workforce to one hundred and fifty people.”
The numbers are impressive; add to those twenty positions that will be created for job seekers in the cannabis industry, as budtenders, processors and assistant managers at the new MedMen facility. So far, the company has received 1,500 applications to fill the spots at their newest store.
In Southern California, MedMen also is under construction for a 45,000 square foot cultivation, extraction, and production facility in Desert Hot Springs, California. That facility, once open, will provide another fifty jobs.
