DNA Genetics Oakland Facility Robbed
The threat to bay area cannabusinesses is ongoing
The bay area of California has long been targeted by would-be thieves of cannabis facilities, so much so that in 2020 during the riots the DCC (then BCC) briefly pulled license holders addresses off of their website. The DCC has since assured cannabis companies that they are doing everything in their power to protect license holders from robberies by working hand-in-hand with police, but evidence shows that the ongoing threat to cannabis companies is real.
Legacy breeder DNA Genetics had their Oakland facility targeted in a brazen overnight raid which, according to sources, only resulted in the loss of a couple computers, thieves having never gained access to any product storage or grow rooms.
Oakland Police have so far not been able to stop the ongoing threat to businesses despite in some cases have intervened during a robbery in progress. We have reached out to Oakland Police as well as DNA Genetics for comment but have not heard back by the time of this publication.
