Missouri Cannabis Sales Hit Record $135.1 Million In May

The average price of items dropped from $28.79 to $26.61 in one year

Missouri’s cannabis market posted another milestone in May, reaching a record $135.07 million in monthly sales as many mature cannabis markets across the country continue to struggle with flat or declining revenue.

May sales included $124.24 million in adult-use products and $10.83 million in medical marijuana, making it the strongest month in the state’s history for total sales, adult-use sales and daily sales average, according to the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services.

The average price of items sold dropped from $28.79 in May 2025 to $26.61 in May 2026, according to data analytics firm Headset.

“The slight decrease in average prices, paired with a 7.7% increase in total units sold year-over-year, highlights a shift toward value-driven purchasing and possibly more frequent, smaller transactions,” according to Headset, which reported lower total sales than the health department.
